Commercial Motor Report Incorrect

July 9th 2008

TransAction would like to respectfully point out that the report in Commercial Motor magazine (3rd July 2008 - Page 9) is incorrect. Whilst TransAction are very grateful of the RHA's continued input into our demonstration on 29th June 2008, the report states that the organisers were in fact the RHA.

This is not true. TransAction organised this protest and previous successful protests in the Capital in recent months.

TransAction: Third Protest a Big Success.

Those that head up "TransAction 2007" thank each of you that took part in the Protest/Demonstration/Lobby of 2nd July 2008 in central London. We would also like to thank the Trade Associations for their input into making the day a very useful event to acquaint the MPs and those that sit at the head of Government on the critical state that the UK road haulage industry is in. TransAction would also extend a big "Thank You" to the private operators and individuals that gave up their valuable working time to support the cause.

Once again the Metroplitan Police must be congratulated on the way in which they assisted us to carry out this protest. You Guys and Gals at New Scotland Yard that made this possible and all of the police that stood on duty as our convoys passed through London we say, "Thank You".

We do not forget the part that the Kent Police play in our own initial starts from the South East at the M2 Farthing Corner Services. To you Guys, "Thank You". We acknowledge the fact that without positive input from the Police, these events would not happen.

To all the Police forces around the Country that assisted the Trucks to reach London. "Thank You". It has been a pleasure to work with you.
